Common questions
- How is noCabins different from an ATS or resume screening tool?
- An ATS filters keywords on a static document. noCabins conducts a real conversation with every candidate — asking about what they've actually built, what they owned, and why they want the role. The result is a competency profile built from evidence, not a resume optimized to pass filters.
- What does the AI interview actually assess?
- SethAI — noCabins' AI interviewer — covers three dimensions: domain expertise (what the candidate knows and has done, at depth), ownership (what decisions were theirs, what they were accountable for), and motivation (whether their reason for wanting this specific role is genuine and specific). Each is rated 1–5 with a written summary.
- How long does the AI interview take for candidates?
- The interview is designed to complete in 4–5 candidate answers, typically 8–12 minutes. It's a single open conversation — no forms, no multiple-choice, no scheduling required. Candidates complete it on their own time.
- Will candidates actually do an AI interview instead of just applying?
- Candidates on noCabins choose the platform because they want their work to speak for itself, not hide behind a resume. The interview is on their terms — they control what they share and can edit their profile at any time. Completion rates are high because the ask is reasonable and the benefit is clear.
- What roles is noCabins best suited for?
- Any role where real competency matters more than credential proxies — engineering, product, data, design, operations, and most knowledge-work roles. It's especially effective when you have a specific domain pain (e.g. GIS, real-time systems, financial modeling) and need to surface candidates who actually understand it, not just list it on a resume.
- How does the Talent Pipeline mode work?
- You list your company and the types of roles you typically hire for. As candidates complete noCabins interviews that match your profile, we surface them to you via email — no job post required, no application pile to review. It's a passive, ongoing signal of relevant talent.
- How does the Open a Role mode work?
- You post a specific opening with your competency requirements. Candidates who apply are guided through an AI competency interview scoped to your criteria. Only candidates who meet the bar land in your shortlist — with their scores, SethAI's written assessment, and the context that makes each one relevant to your specific needs.
- Is the AI interview biased?
- SethAI is prohibited from asking about age, health, family status, religion, caste, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. Background questions are optional — candidates invite them in, they are never required. The interview focuses entirely on what someone can do, not who they are.
